The Mary Miracle Part 5

by | Dec 19, 2008 | Encouragement

As we wrap up the Mary Miracle today, I hope you’ve allowed God to encourage you through your circumstances.

In Luke 1:37 the angel reminds Mary that nothing is impossible with God. Do you and I really believe that? Have we put limits on God and what we “think” He can do? Whenever I catch myself doing this, I always revert back to the account of what God did with Moses and the Israelites with parting the Red Sea. “If God can part the Red Sea and help Moses and the Israelites to safety, then God can certainly handle my circumstances!” God can handle everything…nothing is impossible with or for Him!

Yesterday I mentioned verse 38 and how Mary agreed to be the Lord’s servant in conceiving, carrying, delivering and being the mother of the Savior of the world. What if Mary would have responded differently? What if she would have said something like, “I can’t do this. I’m only fifteen years old and I don’t want to be a mom yet.” Or “I have my whole life ahead of me, and this does not fit into my plans.” Or “I’m too busy to do this.” Or “This is my life and I’m going to do with it what I please.” What if she would have said something like that? How many times have we said similar things to God? The things God asks us to do may not make sense to us at the time, or may not fit into our plans, but He knows what’s best for us. He sees the end result…we do not. He has our best interest in mind.

What does your heart hunger for?
What is your need?
What is the stress of your life?
Where is the darkness?
What is God asking you to do?

Take these things to God. Ask Him to help you in the areas you are needing help in, and ask Him to help you to do what He’s asking you to do. James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” God gave us all the most amazing gift…His Son, Jesus. What we need to do is to accept this Gift. I pray you do that this Christmas and that God would reveal Himself to you in the most special way…in a Mary Miracle! Merry Christmas!
Love,
Julie
