Praising God, Even Through The No-So-Sunshiny Things

by | Jul 13, 2014 | Encouragement, Love God

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Psalm 36:5It’s a beautiful day in our corner of the world.

I love seeing the sunshine, the green grass, the flowers blooming. I enjoy hearing the birds singing, the whisper of the wind, and an occasional train whistle in the distance.

Life is good here in the country.

But if I think too long on this life of mine, the things that weigh me down can creep in… those things in life that aren’t so pleasant. My attitude can quickly take a dive, and the beauty of this day will disappear.

We all have things we’re dealing with. It doesn’t take us long to realize they are a part of life. Your things are probably different than mine. But we each have something, and some of us have more than one.

We have a choice each day. We have a choice in how we handle and react to those things that aren’t so sunshiny. Today, let’s choose to praise God through them.

We may not understand, and they may not make sense to us. But God knows. He sees the big picture. We don’t. He’s allowed these things for a reason and for a purpose. Even if we can’t see it.

Let’s trust Him as we walk through these things. Let’s praise Him today. Let’s seek His face and boldly proclaim who we are in Him.

He is faithful. He is trustworthy. He is in control.

Friend, we are in good hands.

So put on some great praise music. Read some scripture. Hand your cares and worries over to the One Who can handle them. See the beauty of all God has blessed you with. Praise Him for every little and big thing in your life.

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies.

Psalm 36:5

To God be the glory!
