Ending The Day Encouraged

by | Jul 6, 2014 | Encouragement, Love God

We’re going to end this Sunday evening encouraged.

I’m not sure what kind of day or week you’ve had, but I’ve heard from plenty that it was a trying week.

Many in this area received storm damage Sunday and/or Monday. Many are dealing with flooded homes and basements. Crops have been destroyed. Property has been damaged. And even a couple people’s lives came to an end on this earth because of these storms.

At times this week it seemed overwhelming as I read and watched news reports detailing the effects of these storms. My heart has been saddened with so much devastation.

You may one dealing with the after-effects of these storms, or you may be dealing with incredible obstacles right now. If you are, I’m so sorry.

Or quite possibly you’re looking to the week ahead and you’re not sure how you’re going to get everything done.

You may be tapped out, tired out, and ticked off.

I can relate a little.

We didn’t receive any damage, but as I look to the week ahead, it’s will be a busy and probably over-scheduled week for me. I’m trying to stay positive tonight, but I don’t think I’m winning.

I don’t know what you’re going through, but God does. He cares.

I came across this scripture yesterday, and added it to a photo I took Tuesday evening after the many inches of rain we received. This was our view of my brother’s field (I believe of soybeans), completely submerged in water. No filter was added to this photo.

Psalm 28 7

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him. Psalm 28:7

Sometimes the only words that help me are God’s. I pray they might just help you tonight, too.

When we have no strength left, God is our strength.

When we are vulnerable and feel unprotected, God is our shield.

We can trust in Him. He is trustworthy.

Recall tonight the times you’ve experienced God as your strength, your shield, and the times He has proven Himself trustworthy in your life.

Doing so gives me hope and encouragement. I pray it does for you too!

As you walk through the rest of this day, and as you begin a new week, may God’s Word tonight encourage your heart.

Trust God. He is faithful, my friend.

Blessings!
Julie

This is perfect! I read a devotional this morning about the importance of remembering and reflecting on how God has worked in our lives in the past.
I also find hope and encouragement by recalling His faithfulness. It reminds me of how much He loves me and cares for every detail of my life!
May God shower you with blessings this week Julie!
