Five Minute Friday – Exhale

by | Jul 5, 2014 | Five Minute Friday

It feels good to be back. I took the day off from writing yesterday.Five Minute Friday

So, my Five Minute Friday is today. Many writers come together to write for five minutes on a one word prompt each Friday. We meet and share at Lisa-Jo Baker’s. We throw out the need to be perfect in punctuation, grammar, spelling as we focus on just writing. It’s pure freedom for this girl! Join us (even if it is a day late)!

This week’s word:

–EXHALE–

Go.

My husband encouraged me yesterday to “punch out.”

I did. I rested from writing. I’ve been writing for days straight, and I love it. But I needed a break, and I guess I needed permission to take one.

I took the time to exhale.

We need those days, those hours or minutes to pause the spin cycle of life to catch our breaths. To breathe out. To just be.

If we don’t, we might just spin out of control. Take it from me, that’s not a good thing. And sometimes we need someone else to remind us to exhale before it happens.

I hope you had an “exhale day” yesterday. Or I hope you will take one very soon.

If you’re needing permission to do so, this is it.

Friend, take time to exhale this weekend. Rest. Sleep in. Take a nap. Fight the urge to constantly be doing something. Just be.

Stop.

Fireworks edited 1God bless you this weekend. Thank you for being a part of my life!
