10 Day Give – Day 3

by | Oct 4, 2009 | Encouragement

On Day 3 of my 10 Day Give, I again didn’t do anything “out of this world” in my giving, but what I did do, I felt good about.

I originally had in my mind that I would get to spend the entire day at home yesterday, possibly enjoying one of our “pajama days” and enjoying not having to run anyone anywhere. I can’t remember a Saturday like that for a very long time. 🙂 But those original plans changed…and that was fine.

I took Ali to and from school where she worked at a volleyball tournament.

After spending time with my brother Pat’s family Friday night, I realized his son and my Godchild, Bennett, really wanted his Aunt/Godmom to come to his soccer game yesterday morning. His tears that came after thinking I wasn’t going to be able to make it to one of his games gave me the incentive to change my original plans, and put him above my selfish plans of staying home yesterday.

So bundled up in winter attire, we went to his game. And I’m so glad we did…you should have seen his smile and his big wave when he saw me! It brings a smile to my face this morning thinking about it! He played very well, and he hustled on the field every chance he could. I was a very proud aunt! 🙂

Last evening we had Patrick, Bennett and Reagan over so Pat and Stacie could go out for dinner for Stacie’s birthday yesterday. I’m glad they were able to go out and enjoy themselves, without worrying about their children (at least I hope they didn’t worry about them)! The kids had a great time hanging out together!

I have some ideas running through my mind on future ways to give, but I also checked out this list which was helpful. http://www.moneyhelpforchristians.com/101-ways-to-give/ Hopefully it can give you some ideas too!

On to Day 4! 🙂

I so appreciated you giving of you time to watch out kids. And NO, I did NOT worry one bit, because I knew they were in excellent care! Thanks so much for giving me a night off!
