A Haven of Refuge and a Beacon of Hope

by | Apr 21, 2011 | Faith, Inspiration

As I layed my head on my pillow last night, I began to read my BSF notes for the week.  The very first two sentences encouraged me beyond what I expected…

“When life seems hard, even unbearable, where do you find strength to endure?  The promises of God are a haven of refuge and a beacon of hope to those who choose to trust in His Word.”

Amen, Amen!

I felt a weight almost lift off my shoulders after reading that, and as I continued to read my notes, a peace came over me.  I closed my day in prayer, and surrendered to the Lord the things that were weighing me down.  It’s no wonder I slept great last night! 🙂

I love those words…a haven of refuge and a beacon of hope.  We have those things in God’s Word…His promises that we read.  Do we really look at His Words in that way?  Do we really trust in His Words?  God’s Words in the Bible are true…why wouldn’t we trust them.  The promises He made thousands of years ago, are still applicable to us today.

As I close my day down today, I’ll be choosing to immerse myself in His promises…a haven of refuge and a beacon of hope.  I encourage you to do the same!  Good night and God bless!
