Right now is a pretty important place in time. It’s here, this moment, this day. It’s what’s happening now. And, there’s at least four important things to remember about it.
1 – Right now is what we have.
This very moment is all we’re guaranteed. For years I lived for the weekend thinking, “If I can just get through today, the weekend’s coming!” I often found myself either living in the past or looking to the future. Living in the now helps us embrace this moment. To appreciate where we are and what we are experiencing right now. We aren’t guaranteed tomorrow, so let’s live today.
2 – Right now we can make a difference.
We can make this moment count. With the thoughts we think, with the words we say, with the actions we take. When we choose to make a difference right now, we radiate good in this world, and there can never be too much of that! Right?! Let’s treat others the way we want to be treated. Let’s offer a smile, a hand, a prayer. You and I are equipped to make a difference, right now. What’s one thing we can do?
3 – Right now God is in control.
This may be the best news all day. In this very moment, no matter what you and I are going through, God has everything under control. And the next moment, and the next. There’s nothing we need to fear or fret about. Consciously trusting in His sovereignty (His supreme power and authority), you and I can relax and rest in God’s care. He’s got this, friend. He knows what He’s doing.
I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.Jeremiah 29:11 MSG
4 – Right now is a gift.
Think about this… you and I will never get to live this very moment again. Sure, we’ll be able to remember it and possibly relive it in our minds, but we’ll never get to physically live it ever again. Ever. Right now is a precious gift, so let’s treat it as such. Whether we’re doing laundry, or taking out the trash, or achieving a milestone, or conquering a fear, this is a priceless moment. Cherish it. Live it. Share it.
Friend, no matter if you’re reading this on a Monday or a Saturday, or if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or the right side. This moment matters. Right now is significant. Soak it in. Breathe it in. Live it out. Thank God for it.
I thank you for sharing this priceless moment with me!
God bless you!

So, so good!!! And timely! I’m going to share it with all my mom friends sending their children off to the first day of school today and especially those who are sending their “babies” off to college! And yes, my friend, your words are timely for this ole gal too!!!
