#3 Meal

It’s confession time.

I had a craving come over me today…a craving that I haven’t had for a very, very long time.

My craving was for a big, juicy cheeseburger.  Within minutes after this craving began, as I was driving down 1st Avenue, I gave myself permission to splurge on a Quarter Pounder with Cheese from McDonald’s.  I drove up to the drive-thru speaker and ordered a #3 with a coffee.  On my way home, I thoroughly enjoyed and savored every bite of my cheeseburger and fries. 🙂

I seriously cannot remember the last time I ordered a cheeseburger at any restaurant.  I usually forbid myself to have such “splurges,” simply because I figure cheeseburgers are one of the worst foods I could ever put in my body.  (Yet, I can justify a big piece of cheesecake any day…which is probably even less healthy!)

I felt a twinge of guilt for just a moment after I shared with Bill later this afternoon what I had done.  But only for a moment.  I gave myself permission not to feel guilty, but just to fully enjoy the splurge. 

Spending time on the treadmill tonight felt extra necessary, however! 🙂  It just feels good to be able to have certain foods in moderation, to workout in moderation, and to give myself permission to shake things up a little every now and then.  I certainly did that today with my #3 meal!
