Five Minute Friday – Fill

by | Aug 8, 2014 | Five Minute Friday

Five minutes of unedited, unaltered, unplanned writing. I love Five Minute Friday! It gets me out of my self and frees me up. Linking up with new friend and host for this group, Kate Motaung. We’d love to have you join us!

This week’s word:

–FILL–

Go.

Can someone please tell me where summer went to?Lessons on vacation 03

And why was July only a week long?

It alarms me how fast time is speeding by me. Days are gone as I blink. Nights, even faster. Weeks come and go. Quicker than ever before. And I don’t like it one single bit.

I want to slow down time, slow down my days, but I haven’t figured out quite yet how to do that.

Then I begin to question myself…

How am I using my time? What do I fill my time with? Or more importantly, what do I fill my life with?

Really. What am I doing?

let us beginAm I using this life in a way that makes a difference, or am I just going through the motions?

Am I filling it with eternally-impacting things? Or things that have no significance at all?

Am I investing in others’ lives or just doing things to make me feel good?

Am I making God known or just focused on making me known?

Do I fill my time with memory-making moments with those I choose to do life with that I will cherish until the day I leave this earth?

We have 24 hours today. As I write this, eight hours have already been lived. What will we fill the rest with? We’ll never have the opportunity to live them again.

It’s good to ponder such questions today. Will you join me in making the most of this day, tomorrow, and the days to come, and filling them with things that make a difference?make the most of today edited

Stop.

Thank you for being a part of my life, and for the fullness you bring to it. So thankful for you today!

Wishing you a beautiful and full Friday!

Julie

Such insightful thoughts here today, Julie. I’ve been asking myself these same questions, and wondering where the summer went. May we fill our time with things which make an eternal impact and treat it as the resource it truly is. Thanks for sharing!

What a great reminder. I love that quote from Mother Teresa…Let us begin. I am printing it and putting right here by my computer as a reminder to fill my days with eternally-impacting things and not just nonsense. Wonderful!
