Five Minute Friday – Begin

by | Jul 31, 2014 | Five Minute Friday

I’m starting Five Minute Friday early… yes, on Thursday. (In my book, It’s never too early to start Friday!)

This is where we many of us who write let our hair down, so-to-speak, and write on a one-word prompt for five minutes. It’s one of the most freeing things I do in my week. Free writing… with no concern of punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc. Writing from our hearts, to our heads, through our hands. We meet at Lisa-Jo Baker’s to share it with the world. Join us, won’t you?

This week’s word…

–BEGIN–

Go.

No word could be more appropriate for me this week. Or for this year, for that matter.

I began 2014 with Isaiah 43:19 (The Voice) as my cling-to scripture for the next 365 days.

Isaiah 43:19 Watch closely: I am preparing something new; it's happening now, even as I speak, and you're about to see it. I am preparing a way through the desert, waters will flow where there had been none.I have held it close to my heart. I knew deep from within God was going to begin something new in me, but my often small-faithed mind couldn’t have expected this.

Begin.

It’s as if God has said, “Begin again.”

“Begin life again, as I AM making it new in every area…

Your marriage.
Your motherhood.
Your career.
Your faith in Me.
Your trust.
Your calling.
Your purpose.
Your life.”

Everything.

God isn’t done with me. He isn’t done with you either.

Could He be doing the same with you? Asking you to begin life again? A new, vibrant, refreshed life, ready to embrace all He has for you in every area of your life?

Like me, could He be calling you to something totally new and different? A new purpose? A new focus? A new perspective?

Throwing off the chains of the past, to live a freer, more abundant life with Him?

Begin. Will you join me on this journey?

Stop.

Love & blessings!
Julie

It’s a blessing to walk through life with you. Thank you!

If we were sitting across from each other at. Little cozy coffe spot- I’d reach over and squeeze your arm, my eyes lit with nervous (but excited) anticipation and whisper a finite “Yes!!”
I love this post Julie, and am excited to see your story unfold!!
Cheers to the journey my friend!!!

Julie … the verse on that image. Just glorious. A benediction of sorts this evening, yes?

Linda, I agree. God blessed me with that scene from Siesta Key Beach, FL while visiting a friend there last year. Thank you, sister. Bless you!

Julie, that’s one of my mom’s favourite verses. She’s actually been writing down all the times she’s seen it this year, so I’m going to have to get her to come read your post! Love this, about how God isn’t done with us. Thank you!
