Could Spring Really Be Here??

by | Mar 14, 2010 | family, God, spring

Ali and Zach’s school has Spring Break this week.  I’m very excited for it…for a number of reasons.  I love the extra time with them home.  I love the more relaxed schedule we have during Spring Break.  I love not running here and there.  And I enjoy knowing spring is just around the corner! 🙂

I am so looking forward to spring, especially after the winter we’ve had!  With the 40 degree weather we’ve been having for the past week or so, the snow is melting rapidly…it’s almost all gone in our yard, except for the huge mound to the east of our snowfence.  I was thinking just the other day that snow has covered our yard since December 9th!  I saw a robin for the first time this week.  My crocuses are popping through the ground in my flower bed.  There are patches of green grass in amongst the brown grass.  I heard a bird singing outside somewhere this morning.  And Daylight Savings Time started this morning.  My calendar says spring officially begins on the 20th, but I’m thinking it has already begun!

Song of Songs 2:11-12:  See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come…

I’m thanking God for the season of spring today, and I’m thankful for Spring Break!  I think our family could use some extra rest and relaxation, and that’s exactly what we intend to do over the next few days!  May God draw our attention to His creation in this season of spring, and may we enjoy it like never before!
