Eighteen years ago yesterday I began my Mary Kay business.  That seems impossible to me!

I signed my consultant agreement six months pregnant.  I wanted to stay home and raise our children.  That was my goal.  I wanted freedom, flexibility and to be financially secure.  I was so excited after meeting my now friend, Jeanie for lunch to hear more about this new career.  I even remember what I was wearing that day…white button-down shirt which had down one side of the front all of the Disney characters pictured, with black pants with the expandable panel since I was pregnant.  (It’s a wonder she still wanted me to join her in this business after thinking of my attire that day!)  What was I thinking?  I didn’t have many pregnancy clothes to choose from, I guess.  I laugh as I think about it now.

So off I ran with my new business.  I earned enough income the first few months to be able to quit my office job and stay home.  It was wonderful to raise Ali and Zach as I worked my Mary Kay business around them and Bill’s schedule.

God truly blessed our family through my career in many ways.  I met incredible people…directors, consultants, customers, friends.  My life would not be the same without them today.  I learned some incredible people and business skills.  I find it amazing how I’m using many of them still today.  My faith in the Lord grew as well.

I now work my business still around my family, and around my work at Mission of Hope.  I will always be grateful for Mary Kay the company, our great products, the people, and the blessings God has given me.  Eighteen years…full of wonderful memories and looking forward to many more!
