Thankful For Mary Kay

by | Oct 30, 2010 | Mary Kay, me, thankfulness

Despite how full my schedule has been lately, I still make time for my Mary Kay business.  I began my business when I was pregnant with Ali…which will be 17 years ago this February!  It has been such a blessing to our family, and I’m so thankful for it, and for my customers.
I worked my business diligently early on, because I wanted to quit my full-time job to stay home and raise Ali.  I’m so glad I did.  God used it to allow me to do just that for 16+ years of her life.  Neither Ali nor Zach never experienced what it was like with me working outside the home…until now.  🙂  What a gift to all of us.

My Mary Kay business has been such a gift in SO MANY ways! I’ve met some of the most incredible people through it, including Jeanie, who helped me get started.  God has intertwined our lives in so many ways…I can’t imagine my life without her!  God has used my experience in this business to grow me personally and to bring me closer to Him.  I’ve been taught business and marketing practices which I couldn’t have learned elsewhere.  I’ve learned how to treat others and communicate with others effectively, which I now use in ALL areas of my life.  Our family has enjoyed the income, the cars Mary Kay has provided us, and the many, many prizes.  I’ve also appreciated our incredible Mary Kay products…the exceptional quality, and what they do to help me look and feel my best! 🙂

But the thing I’m most thankful for is the people I get to serve through this business.  I was on the phone with one of them yesterday, and it just gave me great joy in helping her find the right products to help her take care of herself.  Something happens to a woman when she feels beautiful on the outside…something happens on the inside.  I remember the first time I felt beautiful after feeling not-so-beautiful for a very long time…after having my first Mary Kay facial, as I was six months pregnant.  It was a life changing moment for me. 🙂

Along with my customers, I get to serve other consultants too.  I get to help them grow their businesses and to help them in whatever capacity they allow their businesses to be in their lives.  It gives me great joy in helping another woman succeed, and following godly principles in the process.  Needless to say, God has placed some wonderful women in my life through this Mary Kay business.  I’m so thankful for each one of them! 🙂

Mary Kay’s principle of putting God first, family second, and career third has been something I’ve stood on all these years.  Thank you, God, for what you have done through this business in my life!
