Merry Christmas Darling???

by | Oct 20, 2012 | Christmas, music

For some strange reason, this song came into my head today…and reminded me of a friend who loves this song at Christmastime. (I think this friend reads my posts and it will probably make her smile.)

It’s a classic from the Carpenters.

I laughed when I realized that I was singing it in my head!

Christmas will be here before we know it…just a little over two months away!

Zach said to me a few weeks ago, “I can’t wait till Christmas!” I asked why. (I thought, he’s a son after his mom’s heart!) But he replied, “Because we have lots of treats around here at Christmastime.” Yeah…it’s been a little short around here in the baked goods department lately. I figure, if I don’t bake things, I won’t be tempted to eat them! 🙂

Some will roll their eyes at me, but I’m looking forward to the festive time of Christmas, and celebrating the true meaning of this blessed holiday. As I was thinking of our November plans the other day, we always put up our Christmas decorations the weekend before Thanksgiving since we are always busy over Thanksgiving weekend. The weekend before Thanksgiving we have other plans, so I might be putting up our Christmas decorations the second weekend in November! 🙂

I remember last year as I wrote on facebook that we put up our tree early, a woman commented on my post, “No! You shouldn’t put your tree up until after Thanksgiving!” Really? I’m sorry, but there is no rule as to when you put your tree up. I’ll put it up when it works for me, thank you very much. 🙂

And I can’t wait to enjoy my first Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks this holiday season!

“Holidays are joyful
There’s always something new
But everyday’s a holiday
When I’m near to you…”
