5 Ways To Make Monday (or any day) Great

by | Feb 15, 2016 | personal journey

Poor Mondays.

They tend to get a bad rap. For many, it’s the least popular day of the week.

But really, every day is a blessing. Life is too precious and short to despise one day out of every seven. (That’s 52 days out of every year!)

What if we learned to appreciate Mondays? What if we put into practice ways to make Monday great? I believe it would make all the difference… for us and for others!

(Maybe you’re reading this on another day of the week. We can apply these same suggestions to any day.)

5 Ways To Make Monday Great5 Ways To Make Monday (or any day) Great

1 – Rejoice In A New Day

You woke up this morning. It’s a brand new day, full of opportunities and blessings. You’ve been given another day to make a difference on this earth. It’s a great day to rejoice!

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us be full of joy and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 NLV

2 – Choose Be Thankful

Thankfulness is a choice. When we choose to be thankful, the day becomes a little brighter, and life becomes a little sweeter. Look around you. What can you be thankful for today? We each have much to be thankful for, even on a Monday.

Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 MSG

3 – Make Another’s Day Great

There’s something that happens when we choose to be a blessing to another… we end up receiving the blessing! Seek out ways today to help make someone else’s day better. It becomes even more fun when the blessing is done anonymously. Make someone else smile big today.

The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped. Proverbs 11:25 MSG

4 – Find The Good

There will likely be bumps in the road throughout your day, maybe even a detour or two. When unpleasant circumstances arise, find the good in them. Look for the unexpected gifts that might be hidden. Don’t give into discouragement, but be encouraged.

If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you! Proverbs 11:27 NLT

5 – Choose To Stay Positive

We also have a choice in what attitude we carry with us today. Choose to say positive and uplifted. May all we think, say, and do give God glory. If what we are about out say won’t help another, may we not say it at all. Be a ray of sunshine to all you meet.

A cheerful disposition is good for your health; gloom and doom leave you bone-tired. Proverbs 17:22 MSG

What do you do to make a Monday (or any day) great? I’d love to read your suggestions below!

Wishing you a fabulous day!

Much love,

Julie

Julie, I love that last verse in the MSG version! “Gloom and doom leave you bone-tired,” so true!! Your post made me think about next school year when I plan to go back to teaching. My Mondays will once again be filled with the hustle of getting ready for work and facing 75 middle schoolers, who may not be so happy it’s Monday. My countenance will not only help my attitude, but it will affect theirs as well. I am going to save this and read it over and over:) Thanks friend, great post!

That is funny that you’re using this same Message version of the last verse, just like I did in my last week’s post! God must want to protect us from gloom and doom. This is a real spirit lifter on Monday (not my favorite day!) I’m sharing this on FB this morning!
