Happy People…

by | Sep 24, 2008 | friends

Each day I receive a “Word of the Day” or “Quote of the Day” through email from Pastor Bill Wenstrom of Prairie View Christian Church. Pastor Bill teaches sound doctrine straight from the Bible, and I enjoy his teaching and have learned so much from him and his teachings. Prairie View’s website is prairieviewchristian.org. I thought I would share with you today’s “Quote of the Day” regarding happy people. It spoke to me today as I was struggling through a few issues in my life.

But before I do, I have to share a little about this picture. It’s of a couple of my life-long friends since 5th grade, Sheila & Karen. They are two examples of happy people! They live life to the fullest and they give so much of themselves to others! I am blessed to have them in my life. We just attended our All School Alumni Banquet a couple weekends ago–I snapped this picture as we were all struttin’ our stuff on the dance floor. I’ll make a post on that event sometime soon. A good time was had by all!

Here’s the quote…

The happiest people are rarely the richest, or the most beautiful or even the most talented. Happy people do not depend on excitement and ‘fun’ supplied by externals. They enjoy the fundamental, often very simple, things of life. They waste no time thinking other pastures are greener; they do not yearn for yesterday or tomorrow. They savor the moment, glad to be alive, enjoying their work, their families, the good things around them. They are adaptable; they can bend with the wind, adjust to the changes in their times, enjoy the contests of life, and feel themselves in harmony with the world. Their eyes are turned outward; they are aware, compassionate. They have the capacity to love.

I hope this encourages you today too!
