God Is Good, Even If Life Doesn’t Seem Good

by | Nov 1, 2018 | Love God

God is good.

Some days I say those words boldly, and some days they come out as more of a whisper. Either way, however, they are words I stand on. Even when life doesn’t make sense. Even when times are disturbing. Yes, even when God seems silent. He has proven this truth to me over and over.

He is good. He is faithful.

But Lord, you are a God who is tender and kind. You are gracious. You are slow to get angry. You are faithful and full of love. Psalm 86:15 NIRV

But, what do we do when life doesn’t seem good? We may ask such questions: If God is good, why is there bad in my life? If God is good, why does what I’m going through hurt so much?

God is good even if life doesn't seem good.

One thing I do know is God uses the bad in our lives oftentimes to bring out good. At first it may not appear good, and it may not feel good, but if we continue to keep our eyes on Him, we’ll see the good He brings out of it. I believe God uses the bad stuff in our lives for our growth, for the good of others, and for His glory.

We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan. Romans 8:28 VOICE

Some of us could use this reminder today. The timely reminder of who God is in the midst of our struggles.

God is good, even if life doesn’t seem good.

Friend, cling to Him today.

Immerse yourself in truth found in God’s Word to find strength and encouragement.

Do a word search in your Bible or on your Bible app about God’s faithfulness and love.

Pour your heart (and tears, if necessary) out to God. Ask Him to bring good out of your situation.

Recall past times of God’s faithfulness in your life. Jot down in a journal the ways you saw God working in your life previously.

Go and be a blessing to those around you.

And, in the meantime, watch God at work. He’ll bring beauty of of ashes.

God has sent me to give them a beautiful crown in exchange for ashes, to anoint them with gladness instead of sorrow, to wrap them in victory, joy, and praise instead of depression and sadness. People will call them magnificent, like great towering trees standing for what is right. They stand to the glory of the Eternal who planted them. Isaiah 61:3 VOICE

Yes, God is good.

If I can pray for you today, friend, please either share in the comments below or message me privately. It would be an honor to lift you and your situation to our Lord. Or, if you’ve seen God’s love and faithfulness recently on display in your life, I’d love to rejoice with you and praise God with you!

Much love,
