Giving Thanks – Day 26

by | Nov 27, 2010 | Christmas, family, thankfulness

We created some very fun memories yesterday, and possibly some new traditions, which I was very thankful for.  Thanksgiving night at around 10:30 Ali, my sister-in-law Stacie, and I went out for a shopping adventure at the local outlet mall where we are staying.  This was a first for all of us…we each had taken a nap during the day which helped us be prepared for our shopping adventure!

Listening to Christmas music on the radio on the way too the mall at 10:30, began our adventure on a festive note.  There wasn’t much traffic that time of night…until we got close to the mall.  It was sure cold out, as we soon realized walking from our far away parking spot to our first stop…Old Navy.  We found some great deals and purchased a few things for gifts and a few things for us.  Have I mentioned how Ali loves shopping…especially for herself?  She was in heaven!

We hurried between stores to try to be out in the cold the least amount of time as possible, and found warmth (and deals) in each store…Adidas, Nike, American Eagle, Toys R Us, Pac Sun, Aeropostale, Eddie Bauer, Claires, and Build-a-Bear Workshop.  Some of the stores were so full, which wasn’t my favorite thing, but the worst part was the checkout lines.  I guess everyone else had the same idea we had to go shopping!  But we made the best of it…and Ali was still in heaven!

At 1:45, we decided to call it a night (or morning), and found as we were leaving the mall a Dunkin Donuts store!  Even though we ended up waiting in the drive-thru line for 30 minutes, our scrumptious hot chocolates hit the spot for the way home.

Lots of laughs, lots of fun, a new way to start the Christmas season, spending time with Stacie and Ali…all were priceless to me!
