Five Minute Friday – Find

by | Aug 20, 2015 | Five Minute Friday

Happy week’s end to you!

Here we are again at Five Minute Friday. Free-writing for five minutes on one word. I struggled with this week’s word. Not sure why, but once it “came” to me, the rest flowed. We gather at Kate Motaung’s place to share and encourage. I invite you to stop over and see for yourself all that’s going on there.

Why not try this exercise yourself?? Write without concern of grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. for five minutes. Even if you don’t have a blog, try it on a scratch piece of paper or in the comments section below. It’s great fun!

This week’s word:

–FIND–

GO.

Those who you do life with already know just how special you are.

I mean, really, oftentimes others see the good in ourselves more than we do. We tend to see our flaws, our failures, our weaknesses. Am I right?

But God… He sees who He created us to be. And what He creates is nothing short of extraordinary.

Today I desire for you to see how very extraordinary you are.

God created you as a work of art. On the blank canvas of your life He created a beautiful masterpiece, full of amazing colors, designs, textures, and weaves. He took His time on you, not rushing through a single splendid detail. He blessed you with gifts and talents that only you possess. He made you one of a kind. No one is like you. No one. And He left a God-shaped spot in your heart just for Him to occupy.

You are a gem, a jewel, a treasure. Amazingly talented. Strikingly beautiful. Incredibly handsome. Astonishingly kind. Created perfect in every way.

Some search for a priceless treasure all of their lives, but friend, you are already it.

find

You are the find of all finds.

Yes, you most certainly are.

And just in case you don’t want to take my word for it, take God’s. Below is who God says you are. (Taken from a previous post.)

You are chosen, holy and dearly loved. (Colossians 3:12)

You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:13-14)

You are set apart. (Jeremiah 1:5)

You are worthy. (Matthew 10:29-31)

You are made in God’s image. (Genesis 1:26-27)

You are God’s offspring. (Acts 17:28)

You are God’s handiwork. (Ephesians 2:10)

You are not alone. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

You are gifted. (1 Peter 4:10)

You are loved. (John 3:16)

You are saved. (John 5:24) (Romans 10:9)

You are secure. (John 10:27-28)

You are justified. (Romans 5:1)

You are provided for. (Matthew 6:31-33)

You are forgiven. (1 John 1:9)

You are reconciled. (Colossians 1:21-22)

You are Jesus’ friend. (John 15:15)

You are no longer condemned. (Romans 8:1)

You are a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

You are holy. (Hebrews 10:10)

You are free. (Galatians 5:13)

You are a temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

You are favored and honored. (Psalm 84:11)

You are blessed. (Deuteronomy 16:15)

You are God’s treasured possession. (Deuteronomy 7:6)

See… you are more than you think you are. Choose one of the above, and remind yourself all day who you are. You are pretty incredible.

You are quite the find!

But God knew that all along.

STOP.

May He bless you and encourage your heart this day.

Much love,

Julie

Love, love, love!! You are extraordinarily beautiful too!! God indeed created us to be who God created us to me with all of our gifts. We are indeed “fearfully and wonderfully made.” We need to remind each other of what what a treasure we are to God!!

    Loved this, absolutely loved it!

One thing I would say…that with the God shaped place in our souls, there is a place – shaped just for our piece of the puzzle – in His Heart. He wants us there, desperately – He went to the Cross for that.

How cool, to have a God who NEEDS us!

Amen, Andrew. He wants us with Him, that’s for sure. Thank you for stopping over. Have a blessed weekend!

Julie- Thank you. I didn’t know how much I needed to hear this until tears came at the end of this: “You are the find of all finds.” The enemy spends much time convincing us that we don’t measure up, that we aren’t worthy, that no one would want us… I need to revisit these verses to keep the lies at bay. Your message ministered to me, friend. Happy Friday!

Bless you, Karen. I struggled with the word FIND last night, until God reminded me of who I am in Him… who we all are… the find of all finds. I’m blessed that these words encouraged your heart and ministered to you. It’s a gift to journey together through this life. Thanks for being my friend! Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Julie! Thanks for such an inspiring post today. I’m so glad to be chosen, holy, and loved, forgiven, free, and blessed – those were my favorites!
How are you feeling with your bronchitis? Praying for you today! My daughter and husband are all settled in with us now, and things are a bit chaotic here. But it’s good, and God is good, and He will provide where He wants them to go in His time. Thank you for praying!

Oh, Ruthie. Thank you for sharing, and for asking about me. My bronchitis seems to be healed. I’m so much better than a week ago. Praise God! I appreciate your prayers so very much. I continue to lift you and your extended family in prayer as well. Yes, God will provide where He wants them to go in His timing. I’m glad we can come alongside of each other in this journey. I appreciate you, friend!

Oh how beautiful this is, Julie! I certainly needed this reminder this morning as I am called to difficult tasks which I know were prepared for me, but are nonetheless difficult. Being reminded of who I am and whose I am and how precious I am to Him is such wind in my sails. Thanks for that!
