Ending/Beginning the Week

Thank you God editedIt was a gorgeous day today. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and I was able to get outside and enjoy it all.

My walk in the country refreshed my soul. I walked two miles and every part of it felt wonderful.

When I was making my way back home, I could see Zach standing out front waiting for me. Seeing him there, warmed my heart. Then of course, his playful self couldn’t resist walking in the door ahead of me and locking it so I couldn’t get in. 🙂 I don’t know where he gets that…must be from his dad. 🙂

We’ve had a great weekend.

I had a hair appointment yesterday morning, and I asked Tracy to go about an inch shorter. I love it. She does such a good job. I spent some of yesterday running errands, then drove across town to listen to Zach, and the school choir he’s in, perform for the State Large Group Contest. As I was almost to the school, I saw a group of students all dressed up in front of the building. As I got closer I could tell the group were students from our school. And as I got even a little closer, there was Zach. Standing in the middle of a bunch of people, yet standing out from the crowd to me in his tux. He was staring me down, and stood there in his “cool pose” which brought a smile across my face. He melted his mom at that moment. 🙂 I love that boy.

The choir performed their three pieces, and the did a nice job. Connecting with Zach afterwards, he was headed with friends to Olive Garden, and I made my way back home.

Later last evening Zach and I spent the evening together and enjoyed Pizza Ranch for dinner. I seriously think we were in and out of there in about a half-hour. That boy can eat fast. 🙂 I enjoyed the time spent with him.

There was so much more that I could have done yesterday, but I really had to choose carefully. I knew my time would be short, and I really had to let some things go. I didn’t make it to Crystal’s benefit, and I didn’t make it to a dance that my nephews were playing in. It bothers me when I can’t do everything, but after this week, I realize that I’m not supposed to.

This week will be full for me…one of the fullest in a long time. Three soccer games, a full schedule at work with extra on my plate, Senior night Friday night, my speaking engagement on Saturday, and two graduation parties Saturday afternoon. I’m trusting God in it all, and looking forward to seeing Him at work in all of this. It’s all a blessing. And I’m thankful.

May you be encouraged in your life this week!
