Blooming Where We’re Planted – Begin

by | Mar 20, 2018 | Blooming Where We're Planted

Happy first day of spring!

Can you hear the angelic chorus rejoicing with hallelujahs, or is it just in my head?

I couldn’t be happier spring is here.

Even though the weather today in Iowa isn’t indicating there’s a change in seasons, I’m thrilled winter is behind us. Winter is my least favorite season. If it wasn’t for family here, I’m one who could easily move south!

But, soon green will replace the dried brown that covers our lawn. My crocuses that have popped through the dirt will burst with color and daffodils will soon follow. Buds will begin appearing on the trees and bushes, and yes, the warmer weather will eventually stick around for awhile.

I’m almost giddy with excitement.

It’s no wonder spring is a time we think of planting, growing, and sowing. We may find ourselves looking for color to spring forth from the earth. We may even look at it as a season of growth for ourselves… stretching, sprouting, flowering. It’s a perfect time to reflect on blooming right where we are.

Today we’re beginning a short series on just that… blooming right were we’re planted. We’ll receive encouragement for today and hope for tomorrow. We might begin to see life in a brighter light and be prompted to help others do the same. It’ll be an exciting time of blossoming into the people you and I were meant to be.

I invite you to journey with me through this Blooming Where We’re Planted series.

Blooming Where We're Planted - Begin

Let’s begin right where we are today.

It may not be perfect and it may not be pretty. Life doesn’t have to be either to begin. Take a look around. What blessings do you and I see? What can we celebrate today? Are any challenges are present? What are we doing in this life anyway? Where are you and I going? Are we embracing each day or are we just going through the motions? How are we impacting the world around us?

Grab a notebook or a journal or a piece of paper or your tablet, and write down your thoughts on the above questions. Jot down what comes to your mind. (Please, don’t skip over asking these sometimes tough questions. They’ll benefit us today and down the road.) See if God reveals anything specific to you.

Just begin.

Join me in Blooming Where We’re Planted.

I believe it’s going to be a beautiful time of blossoming together this spring! I’ll see you back here tomorrow.

Blessings in blooming!
