My Memorable Birthday

by | Dec 31, 2009 | family, friends, me

I celebrated another birthday last weekend. For some reason, my birthday seems to come around quicker each year! 🙂 I enjoy my birthday…I know some people dread birthdays, but still, I welcome them…even though with each one I’m adding a year to my age!

This year I celebrated my birthday by sleeping in (a little), going shopping with Ali late morning, attending the Lefebure Christmas at noon, taking a one hour nap in the afternoon, and enjoying the company of friends and family in the evening at our home. It was one of the most memorable birthdays yet! 🙂

When Bill asked me weeks before how I wanted to spend my birthday evening, I always want the same thing every year…to spend it with the people who are most important to me–my family and friends. It was a wonderfully relaxing and fun evening!

If you’ve read my posts in the past, you might already know that I love gifts! 🙂 My friends and family blessed me with some wonderful birthday presents and cards! Three of the most touching cards came from my nephews Patrick and Bennett and niece Reagan…they were written in their own handwriting, complete with hand-drawn pictures! I have them sitting on my desk, and smile everytime I look at them.

My birthdays are much different without Mom being here to celebrate it with me. She always made each of my birthdays special. I cherish the memories I have of my birthdays with her. I try to make my children’s birthdays as special as she made all of mine for me!

Rascal Flatts tickets from Bill!

My mini coffee brewer and coffee from Tina, Mike and the girls
Lots of fun!
A great book & p.j.’s from Pat, Stacie and kids!

I love my children, nieces and nephews!

Bennett’s card for me…he drew a Bible, an ING coffee mug, a cell phone, musical notes, my mustard-colored purse, and my laptop…all of my favorite things!

The inside of Bennett’s card 🙂 When I read, “You are a very good Godmother,” it sure brought a smile to my face!

Reagan’s card for me (she’s four)…she wrote, “Love Reagan. Dear Julie, Happy Bday Julie. I love you. She likes Mary Kay & Rascal Flatts.”

Patrick’s card…”Happy Birthday, Aunt Julie! I love you! Patrick”
The picture is of me, with a cross above me and hearts for the border.
Needless to say, I felt very loved by how my family and friends made my birthday very special!
