Question: What do you get when you cross our family, with our favorite MLB baseball team, in our favorite baseball stadium?
Answer: Our annual trip to a St. Louis Cardinals’ game at Busch Stadium!
And this year we attended it with our good friends, the Herrings! July 5, game time at 7:15, the temperature was 104 degrees…yes actual degrees. I can honestly say in my 40+ years, I have never experienced temperatures this warm, especially at 7:15pm!
Bill found a great deal this year for our tickets…$4 tickets! Yep, 4 bucks! Our entire family spent $24 (with fees) for our tickets. The three bottles of water and a coke we had during the game cost almost just as much! They weren’t the best seats in the world, but the price was certainly right, and all eight of us were able to sit together!
At one point, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. I had sweat trickling down my face, my back, and everywhere else imaginable. I looked over once at Tina, who had just wiped the sweat from her face, and here she had traces of her tissue on her face! It wasn’t long and I had the same problem! Gosh we had lots of laughs!
Despite the heat, we saw a great game. Cardinals beat the Rockies 6-2. It was 99 degrees at the end of the game. We were all a sweaty mess by the time we arrived back at our hotel.
Good times with friends at a Cardinals’ game. We’ll remember it forever! Who knows…maybe we’ll try to sneak in another game at Busch Stadium yet this season. It’s one of our favorite places!
