Gifts of Rainbows and Sunsets

by | Jun 12, 2013 | This Lefe Family

Sunday night after I wrote my post and closed down my computer, a quick rain shower came through. It was soon followed by two of the most vivid rainbows I have ever seen in my 40+ years. The coolest thing was that one of the ends of the rainbow appeared to be in the field next to our home. You’ll see it in one of the pictures below. The pictures don’t begin to show the beauty we saw here.

I was reminded of the account in the Bible of God making a covenant with Noah and all His people, including us. It’s a promise…

Genesis 9:12-16 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

After the rainbows disappeared, and as the sun was setting, this was the sight to our west…

Beautiful and breathtaking! I am still in awe of how God blessed me with these beautiful sights Sunday night. May I never take these special gifts and moments for granted!
