Five Minute Friday – Visit

by | Feb 26, 2015 | Five Minute Friday

Five Minute Friday.

Where many of us spend some time in community. Writing. Reading. Encouraging one another. I invite you to join the fun.

We free-write on one word, and come together to share our writing at Kate Motaung’s blog. If you don’t have a blog, write your five minutes in my comments section below. I’d love to encourage you.

This week’s word:

–VISIT–

GO.

I have Five Minute Friday to thank for the many wonderful people I’ve met through this great community.visit

I’ve been a part of it for less than a year, and I’m thankful that all over the country, I have friends now because if it.

It was a gift to meet a fellow #fmfparty (Five Minute Friday Party) participant last Friday. Jen and I figured out months ago through Five Minute Friday that we lived in the same state, and only two+ hours away from each other.

That right there blessed me!

We “talked” of meeting up some day, but we all know how that goes. Life takes us in different directions with commitments, schedules, and the like.

But when Jen sent me a message six-or-so weeks ago, saying she was going to be traveling to my area for work, and asking if I wanted to meet, I about jumped for joy!

Someone else who understands this #fmfparty thing. Someone else who “knows” some of the same people I do in this community. Someone else who appreciates writing. Someone else to visit with.

So, last Friday, Jen came up for a visit. We ate, we laughed, we got to know each other.

Jen and JulieI loved every moment of it.

Is there someone you’d like to visit? Maybe someone you’ve never met before? Or maybe this person is someone you haven’t visited for quite some time.

I suggest to make time and find a way to do it.

As I was, you’ll be blessed too!

STOP.

I look forward to meeting up with Jen again soon. I’ll have to visit her neck of the woods next!

Wishing you a great Friday and a great weekend!

Julie

What a great time you both must have had! It is so great to find a friend and be able to visit with so many things in common, especially during a first visit! I think more of us if possible, should make an effort to meet another in our group at #fmf and share their stories here. 🙂

How COOL! I know Jen too, so it’s neat to read that you live near each other and got to VISIT! I’ve really been having fun with #FMF, by the way. So glad I started. Both your example and your words about how you enjoyed it encouraged me to give it a try! Thanks.

Wasn’t this prompt just perfect this week? I had such a great time meeting you, for all the reasons you highlighted above. 🙂 Can’t wait to repeat it (but longer…goodness, time flies, right?)
