This week on the Encouragement for Real Life podcast, Julie begins a brand-new series called Stories I Don’t Always Tell. This a more personal and conversational series sharing some of the moments, experiences, and quiet seasons that have shaped her life and faith over the years.
The inspiration for this first episode came from a simple question a young woman asked Julie after a recent women’s conference: “How did you get started doing what you do?” What seemed like a straightforward question turned into a deeply reflective journey back through ordinary moments that, over time, became part of God’s bigger story for her life.
In this heartfelt episode, Julie shares memories from childhood dreams, early faith experiences, Mary Kay leadership, ministry work at a local mission, late-night blogging days, motherhood, and everyday moments that once seemed small but now reveal God’s faithful hand at work. From receiving ice cream cones one morning at the mission and unexpected ice cream that same afternoon, to rediscovering a handwritten “When I Grow Up” paper from first grade, Julie reflects on how God often uses ordinary life to accomplish extraordinary things.
Have you ever pondered the question, “How did I get here?”
This episode is a reminder that God works through ordinary faithfulness, everyday obedience, hard seasons, quiet growth, and simple willingness to follow Him right where you are.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your life matters, whether God is doing anything in your current season, or whether the small things you do every day make any difference at all, this conversation will deeply encourage your heart.
Julie also shares about her Abundant Life Mentoring and reminds listeners that God is still working behind the scenes in the everyday moments of our lives.
