I remember the moment well. It was one of those when I knew God was speaking to my heart. It wasn’t an audible voice, but more of a goose-bumpy, bold prodding from within. I guess you could say, I heard in my Spirit, “give your necklace to her.” Huh? Of course, I questioned. What? What do you mean, give my necklace to her? I remember looking down at the silver chain draped around my neck which held a small suspended silver cross. Still questioning, if I was supposed to give the necklace–may favorite one–to the friend I was with? Really, God?

God gives us opportunities to be generous–or not.

Give what you’ve got may not mean what you think.

Our eleventh element of abundant living is faithful generosity. It’s more than what we think it is. For some of us, generosity comes easily, and for others of us, it’s a struggle. When we think of generosity, we often think of being generous with money, right? But God’s definition is so much bigger. He calls us to give from whatever He’s given us — time, talents, encouragement, resources, and yes, finances. And the good news: He’s already given us enough to give.

We discuss Scripture, ways we can implement this element, and the surprise ending of my story.
