Genesis Week 3

Genesis 1:1-2:3…This week’s lesson in Bible Study Fellowship was once again filled with God…

God created.
God spoke.
God separated.
God made.
God blessed.
God rested.

The question in the notes that impacted me was, “The next time you delight in a songbird or are annoyed by a pigeon or a crow, will you take time to praise God for the wisdom, power, and care He displays in His creatures?”

God created the right atmosphere, vegetation, and living creatures for God’s final creation, humanity. God prepared the environment as carefully as parents prepare a nursery for a baby. The peak and goal of God’s creation was humanity, the only beings created in God’s own image to bring Him glory. I find that amazing!

It also struck me this week again how God made me (and you) in His image. In that, God tells us who we are. We are not gods, mind you…but we are patterned after Him. We can communicate with our Creator. We are aware of Him. We can have a relationship with Him.

We can know our own story because of the foundation God gave us when He created us. Our foundation is Him.

I am His, and He is mine! 🙂

On to week 4!
