WHOO HOO! Yesterday was Ali and Zach’s “official” last day of school for this school year. (We had six snow days to make up that were added on to the end of the year!) It’s hard for me to believe that school is out already…this year went by so quickly for us!
I always look forward to having Ali and Zach home for the summer. In years past we’ve taken at least one day out of the week where I do NO work, and we go and do something fun, different and exciting. One year we called them Wacky Wednedsays and last year we did Fun Fridays. I haven’t mapped all of that out yet, but will do that this week for us. I enjoy our more “relaxed” summer schedule!
Ali is taking a class for Summer School so she won’t have to take this class during the school year…Summer School starts tomorrow and ends on July 3. She has opportunities to condition for volleyball on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, immediately following her Summer School class. She finishes Driver’s Ed on Wednesday. Other than that, we won’t be running quite as much…and I look forward to that!
Yes, I know there will be the days this summer when I will want to pull my hair out when they are fighting and can’t seem to get along. Yes, there will be days when I will be holding work appointments and I will feel guilty for not being at home with them. Yes, there will be days when I will look back at the end of the day and think, “What in the world did I do all day? Where has this day gone?” But I cherish the reality that my career allows me to be home with Ali and Zach while they are home this summer, and I look forward to the memories that we create while we are together! š
Get ready…SUMMER HERE WE COME!
Ali drove everywhere we went yesterday! She’s becoming quite the expert driver!
Zach is all smiles as he’s just getting in the car after school was let out for the summer!
