It’s hard to believe Bill and I just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary yesterday. The years have slipped by us quickly. I’m thankful for this wonderful man I married.
In these 21 years, we have experienced much pain, sorrow, heartache and unhappiness. But in those unpleasant times, we never gave up. There was a critical time in our marriage that I thought it was ending, but Bill is the one who stood for our marriage, and he never wavered in his faith in me or in our marriage…even when I began to.
God has firmly held us together and I am so thankful. He healed our heartache and unhappiness, and turned them around into something pretty special. I never believed I could love Bill any more than the day I married him, but I believe it now. Our love for each other has grown into something deeper and more special with each passing year. And I can’t wait to see how it will grow even more in the year ahead.
As I was going through pictures of our wedding day, I came across these. I have never seen anything like this at any other wedding, and I have my brother Marty (who introduced Bill and I) and brother-in-law Mike to thank for this surprise waiting for us after our ceremony outside the church. These pictures truly capture the fun of that experience. It’s one I’ll never forget.

Bill and I celebrated last night at a concert in the park. The Beaker Brothers played in Coralville. We packed our cooler with food and drink, took our lawn chairs and relaxed in the beautiful evening atmosphere. It was wonderful. We ended the night with dessert at Dunkin’ Donuts. š
Twenty-one years. That’s crazy. But I look forward to many more wonderful years with this incredible husband of mine! Happy Anniversary, Honey! I love you!
