Labor Day…Already?

by | Sep 2, 2013 | This Lefe Family

Labor Day is viewed by many to be the unofficial end to summer. I love summer, and I don’t want it to end.

This summer flew by me at lightning speed. I did my best through the end July to capture our summer on my blog, but time seemed to get squeezed for me again. I forget how full August can be for our family!

Ali moved out the first weekend of August. I added a couple posts about that. We are all adjusting to her absence. I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to her not being here though. 🙂

Our 21st wedding anniversary was August 8. I wrote a post about that monumental day also. 🙂

Mission of Hope’s HopeFest was August 10. Such a fun day that blessed the neighborhood.

Ali started her second year in college on August 19.

School began for Zach on August 21. He’s a Junior this year…that seems impossible to me. He has had a good start to his year so far.

My high school’s All School Reunion was the 23rd, and our town’s 150th Birthday Celebration was the following day. I had so much fun seeing friends from long ago and hanging out with my BFFL (Best Friend For Life) Tina.

Bill’s bike accident was also on the 24th. We are counting our blessings and are so thankful he’s going to be okay. I wrote a post about that too.

I gave the message at Mission of Hope on the 25th about how God loves us, and that we are good enough for Him. I think that message was intended for me the most. 🙂

Zach’s first club soccer tournament was also last Sunday. He scored 5 goals throughout the day!

We had our BSF Leaders’ Workshop this past Wednesday on the 28th. BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) officially begins the week of September 9th. This year we are studying the book of Matthew, and I am looking forward to the structure of studying God’s Word again through BSF. It’s a necessity in my life…even with my very full schedule.

Zach’s second club soccer tournament was yesterday and today. He scored two goals yesterday, and played well. I love watching him do his thing out there!! 🙂

And here we are at Labor Day. I plan to continue to make the most of the beautiful weather God gives us, and I pray He prepares me for winter (which I’m not looking forward to) which hopefully will not come any sooner than February. 🙂 We’ve had a great summer…our family photo book will show some of it in pictures.

Happy Labor Day, friends. Enjoy the day!
