Living Real And Living Loved When You Don’t Feel Like It

by | Oct 28, 2017 | 31 Days Of Living A Real Life

There’s days when I don’t feel very loved.

Maybe something happened, maybe it’s from the mood I’m in, or maybe it’s just how I’m feeling.

Recently I didn’t receive an invitation to an event others were attending. I acted like it was no big deal on the outside, but on the inside, it was anything but. Feelings of rejection and unworthiness filled my heart, resulting in feeling unloved.

In that moment, however, the thought popped into my head that I don’t have to follow my feelings. When I “feel” or “don’t feel” a certain way, I don’t have to believe those feelings. My feelings are fickle. They shift like the sand on a seashore. It’s wise to not always trust my feelings.

I can, however, trust truth and what I know to be true. Am I unloved because of not receiving an invitation? Am I any less worthy? Putting this in perspective, I just didn’t get invited. That’s all. My worth isn’t tied to an invitation, nor is it tied to my feelings. Friend, neither is yours.

We can live real and live loved even when we don't feel like it.

We can live real and live loved even when we don’t feel like it.

Because truthfully, we are loved. Take a look:

I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love—not life or death, not angels or spirits, not the present or the future, 39 and not powers above or powers below. Nothing in all creation can separate us from God’s love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord! Romans 8:38-39 CEV

And, one more:

That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you. Isaiah 43:4 MSG

Living loved is possible because we ARE loved! God, Himself, tells us so. We don’t have to believe those feelings any longer.

Friend, would you allow these words of God to be a reminder of how very much you’re loved? How very much you’re cherished? How priceless you are to the One Who created you?

Yes, you are loved.

And, if it matters at all, you are loved be me, too!

Living loved is a big part of living real. Let’s not allow how we feel to dictate what we know. (Living real is so freeing, isn’t it??)

Much love you to today!

Julie

I was the outsider for a lot of my like or at least felt like one. I’ve always had a hard time believing that God loves the me I am. I still slip back into that I’m the last girl picked for the team so no one wants me mode now and then. I’m so thankful for God’s word, Christian friends and family, and writers like you who remind me of the truth to “live loved even when I don’t feel like it!”

I think many of us struggle with living loved. I’m thankful, too, for God’s reminders! Glad we can remind each other. You are loved, my friend! 🙂

I have read your blog thank you. I think God chooses those who have felt left out from time to time. If we did’nt we may not need a God who is the most loving father, We are his princess, and priceless to him. This is becoming so much more a part of me. I think we will need it the days ahead.
